The Thielen family is huge fans of the Chicago Cubs and especially 'da Bears!! It's kind of contagious and Matt became a fan a few years ago. Paul has a whole room dedicated to his Bears and the love of 'da Bears has gone subconscious just look at their cars:
Sandie is a great cook and made yummy food for us while we were there. Her mom made us cinnamon carmel rolls to wake up to, mmmmm.

The first night we were there we went to the "Festival on 7th Street". There were live bands, shops and ice cream. Along the alley people are allowed to make murals or graffiti.
Friday we went to Mt.Rushmore water slides with Troy and Jen (Trevor's wife). It was a ton of fun!
Matt and Troy (Paul and Sandie's son) going down the slide after wiping out. Apparently going double is faster but I think they just wanted to cuddle!
That night the kids chalked up the driveway and the rest of us talked it up!
Trevor likes rainbows, he drew several.

Matt's Aunt Kristie runs a teen program at the Journey Museum so she treated us to a tour. It was a very neat museum with lots of interactive things for the kids to do.

Later on Saturday we went for a hike, I left the camera in the car which was stupid, it was a beautiful hike! Hikers: Wayne, Josh, Rebecca, Rachel, Paul, Sandie, Troy, Cara and Aspen. That's right a lot of lazies stayed home.
Sunday we went to Storybook Island, this was Chandlers first time there. IT WAS HOT! I don't know why I didn't pack any shorts, crazy.

Storybook Island is such a great place, too many pictures from there to put up!!
We were big slackers with pictures this year!! Trevor's wife Jen made a special effort to be there that weekend with us which was awesome. Rachel and Rebecca (Kristie and Waynes daughters) were also in town and we were really glad to get to spend time with them. Josh (Kristie and Wayne's son) put on a improv show for us with the help of Troy. Grandpa took us out for dinner before we headed home on Sunday.
Too much good stuff to blog. Thank you for a great vacation Thielen family!!!
p.s. I really don't know how to accurately blog a whole vacation, sorry. There was a lot of summing up!
